Asia minor
The world is a big place, with mountains and rivers; thousands of miles long and thousands of feet high! People live and consort between each other from other cultures, mountain passes and ports are meeting places! How would you feel standing on top of a mountain; maybe there will be wild goats up there, people dont live on mountain peaks for a reason.
I'd like to eat some fresh mountain goat, who's going for goat, I'm not going on my own! These places around world that are meeting points between us because of geography are choke points and killing zones for armys, bandits in peace times. South asia would be all one country; Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. The romans could'nt pass Asia Minor neither could the first chinese emperor, conquer all of South Asia.
You could think, that the land was not very valuable or that it was because loses would be great but i like to think; it is because of geography!
