Radio drones with controllers: Advanced technology
Why with technology in smartphones being so advanced today. Do some drones have controllers? The're a few reasons, one because of certain airwave control laws. Two because of how radio communcation works and practicality of the drone itself.
Radio wave strengh is measured in watts(W) like light blubs or decibels(dB) because of the law regarding wifi and mobile networks, a smart phone can only have 5w of tranmitting power. In most countries a radio devices with greater than 5w of tranmitting power require a radio licence. A drone with 5g capability could be effectivity be controlled anywhere it had signal like say 50 miles or more aslong as it had a battery capable of doing so but there is not network connectivity everywhere on the planet.
Another practical reason that some drones have independent controllers is so that they are not network dependent and the range aspect of the drone. Price can also be a factor using a controller, drones can be made with less expensive components but it can also be companies building drones want to have their intellectual property to remain with them.
